Spirit of Oceanus

"Our ice sculptures are outside" founder Chuck West is noted as saying. Cruise West is a small ship line based in Seattle. They are pioneers in Alaska cruising having sailed a fleet of small ships in the State for many years. Cruise West is known for their excellent, soft adventure experience with outstanding shore excursions and on board educational program. On these small ships you'll get close to the shoreline and explore in a way the big ships can't.

Oceanus & Star

and Star Princess - the biggest and smallest ships in Vancouver in 2002

Spirit of Oceanus is the former Renaissance Five, Sun Viva I and MegaStar Sagittarius. She joined the Cruise West fleet in March, 2001. At 4,200-tons and carrying 114 passengers, this is the smallest oceangoing vessel sailing between Vancouver and Alaska.

For 2005 Spirit of Oceanus will sail between Anchorage and Vancouver, a rare opportunity as she sails right up Cook Inlet and into Anchorage itself instead of turning around at Whittier or Seward. This outstanding itinerary calls at Prince Rupert, Misty Fjords, Petersburg, Juneau, Tracy Arm and Sawyer Glaciers, Glacier Bay, Sitka, Prince William Sound and the Kenai Fjords making it one of the best routes to Alaska in 2005.
